Thanks for your podcasts. Its encouraging as I was baptised into the faith nearly 30 years ago, and it is encouraging to lisen to someone else who has come to the same conclusion on the other side of the planet. I look forward to meeting you one day when our Lord returns.

Hi Mike
Don’t think my comment submitted properly, so here it is again: Podcasts are great, please keep them coming. I’m puzzled by 1 Thessalonians 4:17, as this scripture appears to teach that the air, not the earth, is the place where Christ meets believers on His return. Can you please comment? Thanks, David

Hi David, Thanks for the kind words and your question about 1 Thessalonians 4:17. Jesus said that “in the day when the Son of man is revealed…two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left” (Luke 17:30,36). This gives a picture of a sudden snatching away. The disciples asked, “Where, Lord?” And he said unto them, “Wheresoever the body is, there will the vultures be gathered together” (Luke 17:37). As the vultures fly instinctively through the air and then land on earth where the carcase is, so the responsible will be brought to the place where they will meet their Lord in judgment. A superficial reading of 1 Thess. 4:16,17 could lead to the conclude that all the responsible will be snatched up into the air, and remain there with Christ forever. However, we know that the responsible will be gathered to the place of judgment, probably by being transported there through the air, and then receive their rewards.

It needs to be seen as clearly two things. 1.The believers will be gathered in the air. 2.The believers will always be with the Lord.
There is not evidence that these two are further linked by the air being their destination. but with further study the question is answered by other scriptures about where the Kingdom of God will be established- on earth.

The official churches rejected him the first time he came.
What has improved in the minds of men that would prevent history repeating itself? Except this time, he won’t go meekly!
Judge for yourself whether his words are true in God’s eyes, not in the minds of men & their made-up doctrine.
